If the rumor that CR is STAYING in England until SQ42 is done, then I agree with some others that it will be coming pretty soon as he wont' want to keep his family there forever. Guaruntee he wants to get back to sunny LA as soon as he can lol
I honestly and politely disagree. But first some explanation, you might wish to discount it as mere fud and your perfectly allowed to do so but I ask that you keep an open mind.
In December, 2018 CIG announced their investment from Calders and alongside Squadron 42 information.

I believe the information pertaining to Squadron 42 was honest, albeit optimistic. Here is the roadmap from the same date.

As you can see they aren't behind on tasks and SQ42 is scheduled for beta in Q2 2020. A month late (January 2019) delays appears in the roadmap.

I do not believe, and this is my opinion, they afforded themselves any buffer in the beta date and instead of push back the beta due to the aforementioned delays they opted simply not to publicly update the timeline.
By the end of Q1 2019 the Q1 milestone featureset had been culled and chapter progress was minimal.
Still the Q2 beta date has yet to be updates
In August there was another massive culling paired with the beta date being pushed by a single quarter.

Unlike with Star Citizen PU patches can come early or late and are feature focused where as with Squadron 42 'patches' where deadline focused. If a feature didn't make it by cut off it was 'delayed'. That was until 4th October, 2019 because had they done so the 'patch' for that quarter would be THREE items.
Usables v2
Human AI Combat v2
Mission Logic v
This was the last roadmap update for Squadron 42

After that we got the project update from CIG
"When we first embarked on this Roadmap journey two years ago, our goal was to make communication more transparent, specific, and insightful for all of you who help make Star Citizen and Squadron 42 possible. While this goal remains unchanged, we’ve found that the format in which we’ve attempted to visualize our progress linearly does not match the approach we’re taking in the development of Squadron 42.
We want to be clear: progress on Squadron 42 is happening and we’re broadly happy with that progress. But we know that our roadmap is not reflecting that progress. Over time, we’ve found that the roadmap as presented does not and cannot accurately represent development on a AAA chapter-based, story-driven game like SQ42. So, we’re going back to the proverbial drawing board to explore different approaches for Squadron 42.
We’re currently considering an option where we would utilize our internal sprint-tracking process to visualize our progress. This would be a departure from the current Roadmap, but would be more in line with our internal scheduling. This new representation for progress in SQ42 would also benefit how we show progress on the PU as well. Alongside, we’ll continue to share development progress through a variety of avenues, outlined in the Calling All Devs episode below. With immediate effect, we will incorporate more Squadron 42 content into our regular Sprint Reports on ISC, Calling All Devs, AMAs (Ask Me Anything Q&As), and more. In addition to our scheduled content such as the SQ42 Monthly Report, we’re also looking forward to providing regular video check-ins with Brian Chambers and a variety of members of the Squadron 42 team."
They have mostly fairly with that last part and their communication in regards to Squadron 42 has been lackluster at best with most content focused on mess hall scenes and fork animations in monthly reports.
When was the last regular video check-in with Brian Chambers?

They restructured around mid-2019 with Brian taking over from Erin at the end of 2019...
2019 was a terrible year for SQ42 progress, and that's putting it mildly, and as a result(I believe) Brian took over from Erin. That's natural during project hardships you replace leadership with someone who has a better track record, fresh insight etc. You do not replace people if things are going well.
Since then we had that Briefing Room episode... a single episode before that series was put on the back burner after fan criticism of them showing little more than art assets.
And the same thing is repeating itself I believe. Chris isn't going to England because Brians doing a fantastic job and Star Citizen is perfectly on schedule, Brian didn't take over from Erin because it was going perfectly well either. Chris is going to England because of the opposite. Top level leaders don't jump in for shits and giggles they do so out of necessity. Furthermore him staying in England isn't a good sign, especially if he's moving his family. If it was a quarter or two to maybe dig out a few bad apples, take stock then he wouldn't move his family and he'd simply stay in rented accomodation or hotels. He is moving because SQ42 is seriously far behind and he'll need to lead the project for years.
They said, however true you want to think it is, that the briefing room will return and being a quarterly show at minimum I'd expect atleast 4 shows(ignoring the pilot). We have no Episode 2, no sign of it, no hints. They are at minimum, bare minimum, a year away from release. Are they still working on it? Absolutely. Will it be amazing? Maybe. Is it coming anytime soon? No. I don't expect SQ42 for at least another 3 years, up to 5.
Go look back at the Briefing Room episode 1, post October 10, 2020.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-uR8lJFbMY
Does what you see in that episode look like a game that should have been in beta or nearing beta bearing in mind episode 1 was delayed significantly to improve it's content.
tl;dr Chris taking over SQ42 is a bad sign, him staying there for a prolonged amount of time is a worse sign.
Greycat Industrial Cydnus Mining Droid
Building, implementing, and balancing Greycat's mining platform, the Cydnus, as a game-ready vehicle.
This deliverable is being added to the Squadron 42 Art Team's schedule.

The Greycat Industrial Cydnus is a spider-shaped industrial mining vehicle. In an early preview it was called a 'mining drone',[1] however the Cydnus can support 2 crewmembers and has a cockpit. Given it's uncertain autonomy, it is likely to require crew but may be capable of limited automated operation.
